  • Operating temperature range of -40° to 280°F

The BFM-500-P is an economical solution combining the Spyraflo Self-Aligning, High Performance, PTFE Impregnated Bronze bearing with a 2-Bolt Hole Steel Flange. The final assembly offers design engineers a unique Low-Cost, Low-Profile, Flange-Mounted bearing. The maintenance-free PTFE Impregnated Bronze bearings used in the Spyraflo product are high performance plain bearings. A 0.005 in. (0.2mm) porous layer of bronze particles is sintered on to a steel backing plate. A solid PTFE lubricant is introduced into the bronze structure which is transferred to the shaft when shaft motion commences. Continued shaft rotation facilitates the continued presence of lubricant between the bearing and shaft. The bearing is chemically resistant to, alcohol, glycols and mineral oils and is suitable for medium speed / high load applications where there is the possibility of shock loads. Spyraflo Flange-Mounts are an ideal choice for applications that require a removable/replaceable bearing as opposed to a permanently self-clinched installation. The profile and performance of Spyraflo Flange-Mounts make them a very cost effective alternative to traditional Flange-Mounted bearing mounting challenges. Mail Handling Machines and Systems, Product Handling Systems and Commercial Ovens are among the wide cross-section of applications benefiting from the productivity and performance gains of Spyraflo Flange-Mounts in temperatures ranging of -40º to 280ºF.
